If you are caught driving tired, you could be charged with Careless driving or even Dangerous driving.
For careless driving, you can be fined up to £2500, receive 3-9 penalty points and be disqulaified from driving. For dangerous driving, you can receive up to 2 years in jail, an unlimited fine and a minimum 1 year ban.
If you cause death by dangerous driving, expect to receive up to 14 years in jail.
