Initially, the group were building an arch made of spaghetti. The spaghetti however wasn’t strong enough and the supports kept collapsing.

They then decided to start again and took their inspiration from the Hulme Arch Bridge. Something they spotted outside the lab window!

After abandoning the spaghetti, they switched to cannelloni to use as supports as it was lighter and stronger. They continued to use spaghetti as suspension cable and included a wider base for better balance.

For Load failure the group came 10th place out of 11 with 1.6Kg. The highest being Group 5 with 28.65Kg. The lowest was Group 3 with 1.55Kg.

For Mass to Load Failure ratio, our group came 9th place. The highest was again Group 5 with 33.71. The lowest was Group 3 with 1.29.
